Cryolipolysis Body Sculpting in Phoenix
Non-surgical fat reduction using an FDA-cleared cooling device. No needles, no incisions, and no medication: just targeted treatment for stubborn pockets of fat that don’t respond to diet and exercise.
What is cryolipolysis?
Cryolipolysis is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that uses controlled cooling to reduce fat in targeted areas. It is performed with an FDA-cleared device and does not involve any medication.
How it works, in plain language
- Targeted cooling. An applicator draws in or rests on the treatment area and cools the fat underneath to a precise temperature.
- Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the skin and tissue around them, so they are affected while surrounding tissue is protected.
- Natural clearance. Over the following weeks, your body gradually processes and removes the treated fat cells through its normal pathways.
Common treatment areas include the abdomen, flanks (“love handles”), thighs, upper arms, back, and under the chin, depending on the device’s cleared uses.
Most patients need at least 3 treatments to see results. Your provider will recommend a plan for each area at your consultation.

Who it’s for
- Adults at or near a stable, healthy weight
- People with specific pockets of fat that haven’t responded to diet and exercise
- Anyone who prefers a non-surgical option without needles or medication
- People who have realistic expectations about gradual, modest changes
Cryolipolysis is not a weight-loss treatment and is not a substitute for diet and exercise. For weight loss, see our medical weight-loss programs.
Who should NOT use it
- People with cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria
- Anyone with severe Raynaud’s disease or cold sensitivity (such as cold urticaria)
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Anyone with open wounds, rashes, a hernia, or recent surgery in the treatment area
- People with impaired circulation or reduced skin sensation in the area
Common side effects
Side effects are usually temporary and limited to the treatment area:
- Redness, swelling, or bruising
- Firmness, tingling, stinging, or aching
- Numbness or reduced sensation that can last a few weeks
- Cramping or skin sensitivity
Rare but important: a small number of people develop paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), where the treated area becomes larger and firmer weeks or months later. It does not go away on its own and may need surgical correction. Rarely, cold injury to the skin can occur. Your provider will review these risks with you before treatment.

No. Cryolipolysis reduces fat in specific areas but is not designed for overall weight loss. If your goal is losing weight, ask about our medical weight-loss programs.
