Getting started
How do I get started at Arizona Trim Clinic?
Book a consultation online or call us. At your visit, a licensed provider reviews your health history, medications, and goals. If treatment is appropriate, you’ll leave with a personalized plan.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is needed. We do recommend keeping your primary care provider informed about any new treatment.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring a photo ID, a list of your current medications and supplements, and any recent lab results you have. You’ll complete your health intake securely through our patient platform before your visit.
Will I definitely get a prescription?
Not necessarily. Prescriptions are written only by licensed healthcare providers when clinically appropriate. If medication isn’t right for you, your provider will explain why and discuss other options.
Do you require lab work?
Your provider decides based on your health history. If labs are needed, you’ll be told why and what they cost before anything is ordered. Recent labs from another provider may be used when appropriate.
Weight-loss medications
What is a GLP-1 medication?
GLP-1 receptor agonists, such as semaglutide, mimic a natural gut hormone that signals fullness. They may help reduce appetite and support weight loss when combined with nutrition and activity changes. Tirzepatide also acts on a second hormone, GIP.
Semaglutide or tirzepatide: which should I choose?
Both are once-weekly injections. Your provider will recommend one based on your health history, goals, side-effect tolerance, and budget. You can compare them on our medical weight loss page.
Are your medications compounded or brand-name?
Depending on your plan and availability, your provider may prescribe an FDA-approved brand-name medication or a compounded version prepared by a state-licensed pharmacy. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Your provider will tell you exactly what you receive before you start.
What are the most common side effects?
With GLP-1 medications, the most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, constipation, and stomach discomfort, usually mild and improving over time. Your provider adjusts your dose gradually and checks in monthly to help manage them.
How much weight will I lose?
Results vary from person to person. Weight loss depends on your health, medication, dose, consistency, nutrition, and activity. Your provider will set realistic goals with you. Individual results vary.
Is phentermine still prescribed?
Yes. Phentermine is an FDA-approved appetite suppressant for short-term use. It is prescribed only after a medical evaluation and is not appropriate for people with certain heart, thyroid, or eye conditions.
Body, hair & wellness
Is cryolipolysis the same as weight loss?
No. Cryolipolysis reduces fat in targeted areas using an FDA-cleared cooling device, but it is not a weight-loss treatment. Most patients need at least 3 treatments to see results.
What areas can fat dissolving injections treat?
They work best for small, defined areas such as under the chin. Kybella® is FDA-approved only for fat under the chin; other areas and compounded formulas are not FDA-approved. At least 3 sessions are recommended.
Is oral minoxidil safe for hair loss?
Topical minoxidil is FDA-approved for hair loss. Low-dose oral minoxidil is prescribed off-label by providers when appropriate. Your provider checks your heart health and blood pressure first, because oral minoxidil isn’t right for everyone.
What do NAD+ and glutathione injections do?
We offer NAD+ and glutathione as wellness and antioxidant support services. They are not FDA-approved to treat any disease, and we do not offer glutathione for skin lightening.
Pricing, guarantee & policies

How does the 15-lb guarantee work?
